Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log or local copy of the terms submitted through the search box.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep those messages within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the server may record routine technical and usage details:

No database of personal criminal records is compiled, stored, or sold here. The content identifies where Madison County records can be requested from the Sheriff's Office, court clerks, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a report about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to data entered in their tools. We do not control those terms, so visitors should review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid, and third-party service websites. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy terms control the visit. Review them before providing personal information.
An advertising company may use its own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Its tracking practices are not controlled by this policy.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

Applicable law may provide rights over personal data. Tennessee's public criminal-history dissemination is governed in part by Tenn. Code Ann. §38-6-120, while government-record access and confidentiality are addressed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§10-7-501 through 10-7-515. Those laws regulate government custodians and do not convert this private site into a record agency. A visitor may:
